Athletic Training Licenses Expire December 31, 2011

Licenses to practice athletic training in the State of Alabama expire December 31, 2011. To retain licensure, licensees must submit Applications for License Renewal by November 30, 2011.  The Alabama Athletic Trainers Licensure Act mandates that athletic trainers be licensed to practice athletic training in Alabama.  According to Code of Alabama, Section 34-40-12, to practice without a license is punishable by law and, upon conviction, violators shall be punished and fined as provided by law.

License Renewal Packets are available for printing from ALATA’s website at www.ALATA.org.  Please select the “State Licensure” tab where you will find the License Renewal Packet.  If you cannot access the forms from the internet, please call or email the Board Office to have a packet provided to you.

The Board will begin to accept Applications for Renewal on October 1, 2011.  Applications for Renewal should be in the mail to the Board Office no later than November 30, 2011; otherwise, they are considered late and will be assessed a late fee.  Mail Renewal Applications to the Board Office at Post Office Box 243011, Montgomery, Alabama  36124.

Licensees not intending to renew their licenses should send a brief written notification stating their intention and justification for not renewing.  Notifications of non-renewal can be mailed, emailed, or faxed.

Questions should be directed to Leah Taylor, Executive Secretary, at (334) 264-1929 or athletictrainers@bellsouth.net.
